Systems & API Integration

Give information a clear path between your systems.

Connect applications around defined data flows, field mappings and business rules, with compatibility assessed for the systems you use.

The business need

Give information a clear path between your systems.

Server and network hardware

A system connection needs more than a way to move data. Teams need to agree which application owns a record, what each field means, when information should move and what happens when something cannot be processed. Africube’s systems integration service works through those decisions with your business and technical teams. We assess the interfaces available, define the flow and build the agreed connection. The result is a scoped integration that supports a specific operational requirement.

Who it is for

  • Businesses using several disconnected applications
  • Teams repeatedly transferring information between systems
  • Organisations connecting a new application to existing operations
  • Businesses extending the use of an established or legacy system

Scope & capabilities

What we can help you put in place.

01

Application and interface review

Identify the systems involved and the access methods they make available. Assess APIs or other permitted interfaces against the information the business needs to exchange.

02

Data ownership and mapping

Define the source for each record and how fields correspond across applications. Resolve differences in identifiers, formats and business terminology before implementation.

03

Exchange rules

Agree the direction and timing of the connection, including which events or schedules initiate processing. Define the records and actions included in the scope.

04

Exceptions and checks

Work through incomplete information, rejected records and other expected exceptions. Agree how teams will identify issues and take the next action within the proposed workflow.

05

Integration development

Build the connection using the supported approach and test representative exchanges. Include the operating documentation and handover required for the implementation.

The approach

A practical path through the work.

A typical workflow, aligned to the agreed scope and configuration.

  1. 01

    Understand the flow

Identify where information starts, where it is needed and who uses it.

  2. 02

    Define the connection

Agree interfaces, field mappings, permissions and processing rules.

  3. 03

    Build & test

Implement the connection and review successful and exception scenarios.

  4. 04

    Put into operation

Complete the agreed handover and explain operating responsibilities.

Project outputs

What the engagement can deliver.

Data-flow specification

A documented description of the applications, records, mappings and business rules in scope.

Integration implementation

The agreed connection between assessed source and destination systems.

Checks and operating notes

Validation scenarios, exception-handling steps and information needed to operate the connection.

Before we scope the work

Start with your requirements.

The integration approach depends on access permitted by each application. Africube assesses interface availability, authentication, data volume, processing frequency and the actions required. Any third-party access, licence requirements or hosting arrangements must be confirmed as part of the project scope.

  • Names and versions of the applications involved
  • A description of the records that need to move
  • Available interface documentation or sample exports
  • Expected volume, timing, permissions and business rules

Useful answers

Before we get started.

Can you connect an older business application?

We can assess it. A connection depends on the access methods the application permits, the information available and the changes needed. Share technical documentation or details of the current export process to help establish the options.

Does an integration always exchange data in both directions?

No. Some requirements need information to move in one direction only. Others need a defined return flow. The direction, record ownership and permitted actions are agreed for each connection.

Where does integration end and process automation begin?

Integration connects systems and exchanges information. Process automation uses defined rules to move work forward, such as sending a notification or requesting an approval. A project can include both when the requirement calls for them.
