Who we are
This policy covers Africube Technologies (Pvt) Ltd ("Africube", "we", "us") — a custom software development company based in Harare, Zimbabwe — and applies to this website and the services we provide.
We process personal information in line with Zimbabwe's Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07]. For anything in this policy, you can reach us at sales@africubetechnologies.com or on WhatsApp at +263 78 676 9931.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you contact us — through the form on this site, by email, by phone, or on WhatsApp — we receive what you send: typically your name, email address, company name, phone number, and the content of your message.
Technical information
Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps). We use these only for security and to keep the site running. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the standard web request your browser makes for those font files. We also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. GA4 sets cookies in your browser and processes that data on Google's servers under Google's own privacy terms; Google anonymises IP addresses before storing them, and we have no advertising features switched on. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
Client service data
When you become a client, we handle the business data needed to deliver the work — most importantly, accounting and invoice data for fiscalisation and analytics. That category has its own section below, because it's where our strongest commitments live.
What we don't do
- No advertising trackers. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (see above), but we run no advertising cookies, ad networks, or cross-site trackers.
- No selling data. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal or client data. Ever.
- No AI training on your data. We do not use client data to train machine-learning models.
- The website assistant stays in your browser. The "Africube AI" chat on our homepage runs entirely on your device — the questions you type are matched against prepared answers locally and are not transmitted to us or to any third party.
How we use your data
We use the information above to:
- Reply to your enquiry and have the conversation you started
- Scope, deliver, and support the services you engage us for
- Invoice and keep the records the law requires us to keep
- Keep our website and systems secure
Our legal bases under the Cyber and Data Protection Act are your consent (when you contact us), the performance of a contract (when you're a client), our legal obligations (tax and company records), and our legitimate interest in running a secure business.
Client accounting data
When we integrate with your accounting system, our access is read-only by design.
We read the invoice data needed to fiscalise, report, or analyse — and nothing more can happen: we cannot edit an invoice, change a ledger, or delete a record. Your books stay exactly as your accountant left them.
- Access is limited to the specific tables and fields the service needs
- Only the team members working on your account can access your data
- For FDMS clients, invoice data is transmitted to ZIMRA on your behalf — that is the service, and it happens because the law requires it of your business
- NDAs are available before any discovery work begins
When data is shared
We share data only where the service requires it or the law demands it:
- ZIMRA — fiscal invoice data, transmitted for FDMS clients as required by Zimbabwean law
- Infrastructure providers — our hosting and email providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage statistics (pages viewed, device, approximate location) processed by Google under its own privacy terms
- WhatsApp / Meta — if you contact us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy
- Legal requirements — if a court or authority with proper jurisdiction compels disclosure
No third party receives your data for marketing purposes.
How we protect it
- Data encrypted in transit and at rest
- Read-only, least-privilege access to client systems
- Role-based access within the studio
- Audit trails on fiscal transactions
No system is perfectly secure, but we build ours as if your auditor — and ours — will read the logs.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as the conversation is live, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. Client and financial records are kept for as long as our contract and Zimbabwean tax and company law require. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted.
Your rights
Under the Cyber and Data Protection Act, you can ask us:
- What data we hold about you (access)
- To correct data that's wrong (rectification)
- To delete data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep (erasure)
- To stop processing you previously consented to (objection / withdrawal of consent)
Email sales@africubetechnologies.com and we'll respond. If you believe we've handled your data unlawfully, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with POTRAZ, Zimbabwe's Data Protection Authority.
Outside Zimbabwe
We work with clients across the continent. Where the data protection law of your own country applies to our engagement, we honour it — and our contracts say so explicitly. Some of our infrastructure (such as cloud hosting) is located outside Zimbabwe; where client data crosses borders, it does so encrypted and only as needed to deliver the service.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. Material changes that affect active clients are communicated directly.
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children's data.
